Scope and content:

These official letters cover portions of the terms of Mayors Owen McAleer and Arthur C. Harper. Most of the letters pertain to the police and fire departments. Volume 1 is from January 19, 1905 to April 28, 1906. Volume 2 is from May 4, 1906 to January 29, 1908.

Biographical / historical:

McKeag was the Los Angeles Mayor's secretary.
