- The collection contains material related to the Bay Area Women of Color BDSM Photo Project, later called the Bay Area Women of Color Photo Project. April Martin Chartrand, also known as Ms. Heart and Heart-Elegance, co-founded the group with Andrew Morgan in 2003. Their mission was to expand the aesthetic and cultural perceptions of the BDSM community by promoting artistically tasteful photographic images of Women of Color in BDSM. The Project ran from 2003-2009. The collection includes promotional material and images; and various papers, clippings, and ephemera related to Chartrand's work and the project, including documentation of a panel event with SF Citadel. In addition, the collection includes Chartrand's abstracts, research papers, and presentation slides for the following: "Sub-Culture Within a Sub-Culture: Women of Color in the Bay Area in the Fetish Lifestyle, A Colorful Spectrum of Gender Orientations and Divergent Interests"; "Folsom Street Fair's History"; and "Potty Training: All Bodies Welcome."
