Seven scrapbooks donated by Reverend Scott Herrera on behalf of the St. Mary Parish. The donation was given to the Pioneer Room by Martha McCarthy. Martha was researching the history of the church for its upcoming 135th Anniversary. Martha arranged for Reverend Scott Herrera to sign donation paperwork for the scrapbooks. Scrapbooks were located at the Parish offices in Escondido, CA, the Parish offices in Oceanside, and the Diocese offices in San Diego, CA.

    Biography/Administrative History

Scrapbooks are in stable condition and in generally good to excellent status. Recommend digitization in the future to ensure items are not lost as adhesive fails. Note that some items are loose, but have been left in the original order. Painters and masking tapes were added to the scrapbooks by the donor to annotate their contents. “Pioneer” was written in permanent marker by the donor to notate where the scrapbooks were to be donated.
