Biographical/ Historical
Myles Connolly was born in Roxbury, Massachusetts in 1897. He graduated from Boston College in 1918 after spending a year
in the U.S. Navy during World War I, Connolly got a job with the Boston Post as a reporter. For many years, Connolly frequently
contributed stories to national magazines.
Connolly marries Agnes Bevington, a Nashville socialite and concert pianist, on May 29, 1929. They had four children: Mary,
Kevin, Terrence, Myles Jr., and Ann.
Also in 1929, Connolly began his work as a film producer. He continued to produce and screenwrite films for the next two decades,
writing and producing over forty films, including the Tarzan pictures of the 1940s, "The Unfinished Dance", "The Right to
Romance", and The Face in the Sky".
Connolly in 1964 at 66 years old following complications from open-heart surgery at St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica, California.

Scope and Contents
The Myles Connolly Papers are comprised of real estate records for the properties in Malibu, California owned by Myles and
Agnes Connolly. These properties include 108 Malibu Colony, the "Hilltop" poperty, and a portion of land near Pacific Coast
Highway and the Serra Retreat. Documents in this collection include grant deeds, insurance titles, and full reconveyances.
The collection also includes joint tenancy agreements between Myles and Anges Connolly and later between Agnes Connolly and
her dauhter, Ann Fulton.
