Background
The Cal Poly Pomona Downtown Center, which was open from 2000 to 2009, hosted educational
and cultural programs for both the youth and adults of Pomona. Cal Poly Pomona's College of
Letters, Arts, and Social Sciences established the center in 2000 in an effort to support
the revitalization of downtown Pomona and to offer programs that would benefit the
community. The effort was led by Barbara Way, the dean of the College of Letters, Arts, and
Sciences.
