Description
The Bert Kaplan UCSC audio and visual
recorded lectures collection is comprised of approximately 75 recordings, primarily of
University of California, Santa Cruz class lectures from 1986 to 1994. The majority of the
lectures are from Stevenson College core courses. It also contains recordings of panel
discussions, performances, and campus groundbreaking, dedication, and inaugural ceremonies.
The recordings were collected by Bert Kaplan, a psychology professor and a founding faculty
member at UC Santa Cruz and Cowell College.
Background
Bert Kaplan (1919-2006) was a professor emeritus of psychology at UC Santa Cruz and a
founding faculty member of UCSC and Cowell College. Kaplan also helped found the History of
Consciousness program. He retired in 1989.
