Abstract: The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender (LGBT) Resource Center is dedicated to providing a safe and welcoming environment
for UCI's diverse lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex, and ally communities. The Resource Center
opened in the Spring in 1995. Included in this collection are photographs, publicity scrapbooks, programming flyers, zines
made by students, strategic planning, advisory board committee information, calendars, and fact sheets. Of note are materials
from the play MotherSON by playwright Jeffery Solomon in 1999, the Orange County LGBT Timeline Project from 1995, and poster
boards documenting the Shanty Town that was constructed in February 1990 to protest a policy that the university would recognize
only legal marriages, not same-sex or domestic partnerships, for married student housing.
