    Scope and Content of Collection

    Papers, audiovisual materials, photographs, and ephemera related to the life and career of Arhoolie Records founder Chris Strachwitz. The collection documents Strachwitz's activities as a music producer, record label owner, music publisher, festival organizer, record collector, and documentarian of American and world roots music. Contents include Strachwitz's correspondence, photographs, interviews, travel and field notes, research files, posters, writings, and sound and video recordings documenting hundreds of concerts, performances, and events.
