Scope and content:

This collection contains records from High Tech Gays (HTG), a social organization of LGBT people in the technology industry that was founded in San Jose in 1983. The collection includes background information and by-laws; small amounts of correspondence and memos, board meeting minutes, and materials related to the class action lawsuit High Tech Gays vs. Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office. There are also materials related to equal employment in the workplace; the groups’ social activities, including Pride Parades; financial records; photographs; and newsletter files. The newsletter files include correspondence and memos, meeting minutes, board meeting minutes, advertising, photographs and a few issues that are not in the Historical Society’s Periodical Collection.
