Description
Dr. Thomas W. Reilly was a faculty member at California State University, Northridge (CSUN) from 1969-2001. Before coming to CSUN Reilly worked as a journalist with the Van Nuys News (now the Daily News.) He also spent time as the public information officer for Los Angeles City Schools. The collection consists of research materials, articles, and book drafts written by Reilly. These materials include Mexican War-era newspaper and correspondence, newspaper clippings, notes, photocopies of Villard and Garrison family correspondence, and several secondary sources relating to Reilly's other areas of interest.
Background
Dr. Thomas W. Reilly was a faculty member at California State University, Northridge (CSUN) from 1969-2001. He made numerous contributions to the growth and development of the University as the chairperson of the Journalism Department, founding editor of Journalism History, Acting Director of Public Affairs, and as Director of the Urban Archive Center, 1987-1990.
