Description
This collection contains one hand-made book documenting A. Clifford Johnson's experiences on the Sierra Club's 1930 High Trip. Included in the book are typed descriptions of his day-to-day activities, names of people he met, and his reflections throughout the trip. In addition to typed text, Johnson has glued small black and white photos – likely cut from a contact sheet – illustrating some of the destinations on his trip.
Background
Little is known about A. Clifford Johnson's involvement in the Sierra Club. According to the Sierra Club High Trip personnel list, he was in attendance during the 1930 High Trip and resided in Whittier, CA at the time. No other information is known about his affiliation with Sierra Club.
