Description
The Garrett Starmer collection consists of about 1.6 linear feet of scripts that have been collected by Starmer. These scripts pertain to documentaries written in the 1940s and performed via CBS, NBC, ABC and the Mutual Broadcasting System.
Background
Garrett Starmer was a professional actor for a short time, and spent much of his career as a professor of speech and drama at various colleges and universities in California. With fellow faculty members John Sutthoff and George Rogers he secured the licenses for both an educational television station (now KIXE-PBS) and KCHO radio in the name of California State University, Chico.
