The Johanna Spinks Malibu Portraits Collection contains watercolor and ink portraits and corresponding interviews from two of her portrait series, "The Face of Malibu" and "The Face of Malibu Rebuilds". Both portrait series and interviews featured in The Malibu Times. "The Face of Malibu" portrait series and articles were created from 2012-2017 and highlight individuals in the Malibu community. "The Face of Malibu Rebuilds" portraits and interviews depict how Malibu residents responded to the Woolsey Fire in 2018. In addition to the portraits there are promotional brochures, interview printouts for "The Face of Malibu Rebuilds" series, and a book that contains the interviews for "The Face of Malibu" series.

Johanna Spinks is a British born, Los Angeles based portrait artist whose work hangs in museums, galleries, and private collections all over the world. Mentored by the late Everett Raymond Kinstler N.A. who painted eight presidential portraits, Johanna's style can be best described as classical oil portraiture with a contemporary palette knife twist.
