Description
Collection mainly consists of correspondence, administrative records from various sleep research organizations he was involved in, and sleep studies and research. It also includes course materials and student work from the Sleep and Dreams course he taught at Stanford.
Background
William C. Dement is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Stanford. He founded the Sleep Research Center at Stanford and co-founded the Sleep Research Society. He was also the founding President of the American Sleep Disorders Association (ASDA).
