The collection contains Francis V. Keesling Sr.'s diaries from 1906 to 1953 and the reprints he collected. This collection was donated by his son, Francis V. Keesling Jr. in 1974 alongside his own papers.

Biographical / historical:

Francis V. Keesling Sr. was a prolific figure in the Bay Area. He was a Stanford alumnus and had a hand in politics, legal affairs, and life insurance work. Keesling Sr. was also a member and leader of many organizations, including the West Coast Life Insurance Company, American Life Convention, Stanford Alumni Association, Golden Gate Bridge and Highway District Building Committee, Interim Committee of Twenty-Five, and the Grand Lodge of California.
