documents.
Background
Private Ezra G. Blazo, United States Army (1833 - 1863) of the 20th Regiment of Illinois Volunteers (Company A) was born in
Maine to parents Ebenezer and Elizabeth Gibbs Blazo. He had a younger brother, Amos. He married Emily W. Nickerson in Lowell,
Massachusetts in November of 1854. The couple had one child the following year, a son named William W. Blazo. Ezra enlisted
in 1861 under the alias Charles G. Blazo, and died in a hospital in St. Louis in September 1863.
