Biographical Information
Dr. Pedro Chan collects through E-Bay for the purpose of donating to institutions in the United States and China. His primary
collecting focus is World War II Flying Tigers, a group of P 40 fighter planes painted to look like Japanese man-eating beasts
and flown by Chinese pilots. Dr. Chan also collects items that illustrate the role of Chinese immigration on building the
Transcontinental Railroad.

Scope and Contents
Dr. Pedro Chan's collection of early railroading and transcontinental railroad material includes
Harper's Weekly vintage prints taken along the Transcontinental Railroad route, drawings of United States Pacific Railroad Exploratiion and
Survey, a photograph of Chinese workers, Central Pacific Railroad tickets,expense bills and vouchers. There is a Sioux City
and Pacific Railroad payroll from 1870, and a Northern Pacific stock certificate and equipment drawing.
