Abstract: Lis Pendens Notices, or Notices of Pending Action, are recorded notices within the chain of title for real property, serving
the purpose of informing interested third parties about ongoing legal proceedings that impact the property’s title or involve
claims such as mortgages, liens, or other real property interests. Records consist of lis pendens notices recorded in San
Diego County between 1903-1908.

Scope and Content of Collection
Lis Pendens Notices, or Notices of Pending Action, consist of a single disbound volume of notices (labelled #8) filed in the
Superior Court of the County of San Diego. Each notice is a legal document that identifies involved parties, both plaintiff(s)
and defendant(s) as well as a description of the real property in question and the nature of pending legal action(s). These
actions include, but are not limited to, foreclosure, lien, quiet-title, partition, and similar actions regarding the ownership
and tenancy of real property. Materials are arranged chronologically by date of recording.
