Description
John J. Winters (born 1961) is an LGBT rights and AIDS activist based in the East Bay region of the San Francisco Bay Area. This collection includes papers and t-shirts related to ACT UP East Bay and Golden Gate; subject files related to AIDS treatment activism; meeting announcements, newsletters, and minutes from University of California, Berkeley LGBT organizations, including the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Intersex Association; meeting materials related to LGBT rights in Oakland; and ephemera and meeting materials from Creating Change 2005. Also included are course materials from Winters’ time as an undergraduate at the University of California, Berkeley (2010-2013) and a small number of 1980s newsletters and ephemera from the American Uniform Association.
