Background
Martin Krieger (b. 1944) is an American physicist, author, and a professor in public policy and urban planning. Krieger is
a professor at the University of Southern California who joined the faculty in 1984. He does research on mathematical models
of urban phenomena, ecological issues of design and planning, notions of uncertainty in policy and planning, environmental
policy, and defense policy. He has done social-science informed aural and photographic documentation of Los Angeles, including
storefront houses of worship and industrial Los Angeles.
