Poledouris (1945-2006).
Background
Basil Poledouris (1945-2006) was an American composer who scored more than 80 films and television programs during his 36-year
career. Poledouris studied filmmaking and music at USC in the 1960s. After scoring more than 100 educational films with such
titles as A Day in the Life of a Dollar Bill, Poledouris got his feature film break in former USC classmate John Milius' surfing film Big Wednesday (1978). Poledouris often collaborated with Milius, as well as Dutch director Paul Verhoeven.
