Biographical/Historical note
Harold Hayden Whiteley was born in Los Angeles, California on March 26, 1890. After studying architecture Whiteley became
the chief draftsman at 20th Century Fox, worked for the architect Paul Williams, architect Adrian Jennings Wilson, and architect
Frank M. Tyler. In 1951, Whiteley opened his own firm and was licensed to practice in both California and Nevada. Over the
course of his career he carried out many projects in both states. Harold Hayden Whiteley died in 1970.
Scope and Content note
The Harold Whiteley design of an unidentified Beverly Hills store building spans 1.5 linear feet and dates from 1951. The
collection is composed of one presentation drawing rendered by J. D. Prouty of a suggestion for the tile facing and roof of
a tower for a store building.
