    Biography / Administrative History

Stephen Green worked for Sacramento-based television station KTXL TV40 (now Fox40) from the 1970s to the early 1990s in the advertising and marketing department. He created print ad layouts for television programs that aired on KTXL TV40. His ads ran in magazines, newspapers, and TV guides.
KTXL began broadcasting across the Sacramento Valley on October 26, 1968. Located at 4655 Fruitridge Road in Sacramento, it was the first California station to operate a satellite that could stream live feeds across the nation, and it was the first station in its market to own a satellite truck. During the 1970s and 1980s the station produced top-rated children programs like Cap'n’s Locker with Cap’n Mitch, and Romper Room. KTXL also brought “Big Time Wrestling” to Sacramento every Thursday night between 1969 and 1979, producing matches for the community to watch live and offering syndication throughout California, Hawaii, Utah, and Alaska.
