Abstract: Records of the California Trolley and Railroad Corporation (CTRC) through 2015, compiled by CTRC founder and former president
Rod Diridon, Sr. This non-profit 501(c)3 organization began in the early 1980s as two separate groups -- the San Jose Trolley
Corporation and the Santa Clara Valley Railroad Association. Because of shared board members and similar missions, the two
groups merged in 1994 to form CTRC. Comprises administrative and financial records, as well as a small number of photographs
(.5 linear feet).

The CTRC records were part of a donation from the office of Rod Diridon, Sr., who maintained the organization's records.
Biography/Administrative History
Established in 1982, the California Trolley and Railroad Corporation (CTRC) is a non-profit organization that preserves and
reflects the rich legacy of rail transportation in the Santa Clara Valley for educational and recreational benefit. Among
its numerous projects is the restoration of Southern Pacific steam locomotive 2479. CTRC has also restored a number of historic
trolley cars.
Scope and Content of Collection
Comprises 12 boxes of administrative and financial records, as well as a small number of photographs (.5 linear feet), documenting
CTRC's meetings, finances, its work on trolley acquisition and restoration, building a trolley barn at San Jose's History
Park, volunteer events, and relationships with similar organizations elsewhere in the U.S. Also documented are CTRC's efforts
to create a railway and transport museum in the San Jose area.
