Description
The Committee for Arts and Lectures (CAL) was responsible for organizing arts events and lectures on the University of California, Davis campus. In 2002, the Mondavi Center for Performing Arts opened and the function of this group was transferred to the Mondavi Center. The collection contains season files including brochures, flyers, and playbills, as well as snapshot photographs, and some posters.
Background
In 1955 the Committee for Drama, Lectures, and Music was organized. The group was responsible for organizing arts events and lectures on campus. Its name was changed to the Committee for Arts and Lectures (CAL) in 1960 and again in 1990 to UC Davis Presents. In 2002, the Mondavi Center for Performing Arts opened and the function of this group was transferred to the Center.
