Peters served on, 1959-1971; a scrapbook of his life, 1905-1973; an agriculture scrapbook, 1947-1965; a radio station KWSO and Rotary Club scrapbook, 1949-1973; a Boy Scouts, Fair Board, MEDA, and Education scrapbook, 1948-1971; and undated miscellaneous items.

Biographical / historical:

E. J. Peters was a prominent California agricultural, civic and Mennonite Brethren Church leader. He was a successful potato farmer and held several local and national leadership positions in the potato industry. He was actively involved in various civic organizations, including leadership positions in the YMCA and Boy Scouts of America. As a member of the Mennonite Brethren Church Peters also held leadership positions, including chairman of Mennonite Economic Development Associates and chairman of the Mennonite Brethren U.S. Conference Board of Education, 1954-1971.
