    Biographical / Historical

Margaret Fallenius (approx. 1892-1962) was a voice, piano and violin teacher in Palo Alto, California, originally from the Portland, Oregon area. Her father, Karl, was a Swedish pianist and composer of popular Swedish music who died approximately 1898 while on a visit to relatives in Sweden. Margaret's mother, Edith, was a pianist, organist, and music teacher who supported herself and her daughter by her music after her husband's death and throughout the remainder of her life.
From approximately 1911-1924, Margaret performed classical violin on the Orpheum, Keith and Pantages vaudeville circuits. She may also have served in the USO in France in 1918.
