Contains one black-and-white glass plate negative, 3.25 x 4.25 in., showing a broadside view of CLAREMONT (built 1907; ferry) underway on San Francisco Bay, California, 1907-1924. The photograph is out of focus.

Biographical / historical:

The Passenger ferry CLAREMONT (built 1907; ferry) was built by John W. Dickie in Alameda, California, for the Key System. The vessel was rebuilt in 1924 as the auto ferry GOLDEN WAY and operated by Golden Gate Ferry Company.

The photograph was donated to San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park in December 2000.
