Scope and content:

Collection includes correspondence, writings, photographs, certificates, printed matter, scrapbooks, and notes relating to the Middle East peace process, Israel, terrorism in the Middle East, and U.S. hostage policy. Includes material on human rights, Kurdish political and social issues, and political developments in Turkey, Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon. Also documents U.S.-Ethiopia relations, Ethiopia, Togo, West Africa, India, and issues of internal displacement. The collection contains biographical materials as well. Some of the materials have been annotated by Korn's wife Roberta Cohen.

Biographical / historical:

David Adolph Korn (1930-2022) was a United States diplomat and author. He served in the U.S. Foreign Service and was the U.S. Ambassador to Togo, specializing in Middle Eastern and African affairs. He wrote extensively on international relations, policy, Africa, and the Middle East.
