- Scope and content:
-
"Inside China Today" Scenes in rural western China, mostly agricultural. Includes planting, caring for and harvesting food. Harvesting sequence appears to include KMT soldiers, who are later seen in uniform eating the fruits of their labor, demonstrating how they can provide for themselves and do not put added pressure on civilian farmers to feed the military. Evidence of how farming techniques in many rural areas were still firmly rooted in the 19th century. (unedited, silent) (likely from 1934-1936 period, as post-1937 all resources were dedicated to the War of Resistance.) (March of Time outtake, Public Domain)
