    Abstract: This collection includes two scrapbooks compiled by Everett Boucre, a dance instructor and performer who lived in Oakland, California. One dates from World War II and contains cut-out pictures of war scenes and soldiers; the other includes pictures of men’s clothed crotches, compiled as part of Boucre's participation in a tongue-in-cheek club of gay men called the Basket Makers of America. The latter book dates from the 1950s-1970s.

    Scope and Content of Collection

    This collection includes two scrapbooks compiled by Everett Boucre, a dance instructor and performer who lived in Oakland, California. One dates from World War II and contains cut-out pictures of war scenes and soldiers; the other includes pictures of men’s clothed crotches, compiled as part of Boucre's participation in a tongue-in-cheek club of gay men called the Basket Makers of America. There is a mimeograph page at the beginning of this scrapbook giving more information about the club. The latter scrapbook dates from the 1950s-1970s.
