Description
Robert Mower Hagan (1916-2002) served as Professor of Water Science at the University of California, Davis from 1948-1987.
The Hagan Papers contain writings, teaching files including class lecture notes and background materials, as well as subject
files which contain materials on topics such as the peripheral canal and Delta water management. The collection provides documentation
of the politics of California's water in the late twentieth century.
Background
Robert Mower Hagan was born in Oakland on December 6, 1916 to Hugh Lawrence Hagan and Geneva Mower Hagan. He received his
B.S. in Chemistry (1937) and an M.S. in Soil Physics (1941) from the University of California, Berkeley and his Ph.D. in Soil
Science and Plant Physiology (1948) from the University of California, Davis.
