Biography/Administrative History
The Bank of Finance was founded in Los Angeles in 1964 and became the first African American owned and operated bank in the
West. The founder, Onie B. Granville (1916-1998), was a prominent businessman beginning with the establishment of a local
realty firm in 1949.
