Scope and content:

The books, pamphlets, and ephemera in this collection represent a view of the English aristocracy in the late Victorian and Edwardian periods, as well as the world of contemporary art.

Biographical / historical:

Sir Osbert Sitwell was a distinguished English poet and novelist. His brother, Sacheverell Sitwell,was also a poet and an art critic. They were the brothers of Dame Edith Sitwell and were members of a family of British eccentrics and intellectuals. The items in this collection were collected by Mr. Lester W. McLennan over a period of several years.
