    Biographical / Historical

    William F. McPherson (1885-1964) was an Orange County, California, rancher, collector, and historian; he was the son of an early California settler.

    Scope and Contents

    A photocopy collection of 330 items from 1773 to 1861, which consists of marriage investigation records, chiefly from the San Gabriel Mission, and letters and documents from early Californians, missionaries, and others. The photocopies are of the William F. McPherson collection of Californiana which was bequeathed to the Honnold Library in Claremont, California; the photocopies were made by the Honnold Library for the Huntington Library.
