Abstract: The Canton (built 1835; bark) sea journal was kept by Daniel Flint Bradford from March 30 to October 3, 1849. The CANTON was
voyaging from New York to San Francisco. On May 3, there is mention of the equatorial crossing and Neptune's visit. The voyage
included a stop at the Galapagos Islands. The volume is available for reference without restriction.

Historical or Biographical Note
The bark CANTON was built in Baltimore, Maryland in 1835. She was lost off the Azores in 1911.
