Collection consists of video and photographic material assembled for book and CD-ROM projects, especially "Bit by Bit."
Augarten is an american author of two books on the history of computing, "State of the art : a photographic history of the integrated circuit" (1983) and "Bit by bit : an illustrated history of computers" (1984). He has worked as an employee at Steve Jobs's company NeXT and authored "The NeXT user's reference manual" (1989). Since 2002 he has lived in Paris, France.

These materials are made available for use in research, teaching, and private study. Videotapes in Box 1 are available but must be transferred beforehand; please allow for advanced notice. Videos in Boxes 2-5 are damaged and not available. An unpublished listing is available from the department. Other material (Boxes 6-8) is open for research.
