Background
Club de Damas (Ladies’ Club) was an informal congregation of women in the Pomona Valley who worked to improve racial and gendered
community relations. Primarily comprised of white and Mexican women, the Club de Damas met at the American Legion Building
where they would organize fundraisers, host open forums, and publish demands for policy reform.
