Description
The collection is made up of material collected by Dr. Matuszak consisting of primary source material from various California pharmacies and research material about the history of pharmacy.
Background
Dr. Alice Jean Matuszak was raised on a dairy farm in Ohio. The chemicals used on the farm sparked her interest in chemistry. She earned a bachelor of science in pharmacy and a master of science in pharmaceutical chemistry from Ohio State University, where she met husband Charles. She earned her doctor of philosophy in pharmaceutical chemistry from University of Kansas. Dr. Matuszak served on the University of the Pacific faculty 1963 until 2000.
