Description
The Valley Music Theatre was formerly located at 20600 Ventura Boulevard in Woodland Hills, between the Ventura Freeway exits of Winnetka and Canoga Avenues. Intended to be the first professional local performing arts center in the San Fernando Valley, the theatre was the brain-child of stage-producer Nick Mayo who, with partners Randolph Hale, Cy Warner and Art Linkletter, formed VMT, Inc. as a public corporation. The collection contains the bound playbills and programs given to Nick Mayo, a scrapbook of photographs and newspaper clippings documenting construction of and performances at Valley Music Theatre, and general Los Angeles theater news.
