    Biography

The Palmer Photoplay Corp., active in the late 1910s through the early 1920s, was formed by Frederick Palmer as a clearinghouse for story materials to be considered for film production and to offer extensive courses, by mail, in screenwriting. The company, located in Los Angeles, operated the Palmer Story Service aimed at the scenario departments of the studios. The service synopsized the contents of all weekly and monthly magazines published in the U.S. of new novels and stage plays and of "worthy" original stories submitted to the Palmer Photoplay Corp.
