Scope and Content Note

View from the beach of various vessels underway and anchored in San Francisco Bay. Includes a sternwheel paddle ferry, three-masted ship, steamships, and an unidentified sailing vessel partly in view. Alcatraz Island and Angel Island are in the distance. People are on the beach with their dogs. Future site of Aquatic Park.

On October 27, 1914, MOANA (steamship) collided into the stern of OAKLAND while underway in the fog near San Francisco.
