12 letters written by William Woodhead (except one by Thomas [Woodhead]) to their mother and sister. William Woodhead wrote of various job experiences in Three Rivers, Michigan (foundry, papermaking, etc.); his broken engagement which motivated him to re-enlist in the army; his later experiences as a guard in the Michigan State Prison (Jackson); and various other topics.
