Martha Williamson was the Executive Producer and Head Writer for the television series Touched by an Angel (1994-2003), which
lasted for nine seasons. Touched by an Angel starred award winning actors including Roma Downey, Della Reese and John Dye.
Williamson's work was honored with many awards, including the Freedom Works Award from Congress, the Templeton Prize, the
Edward R Murrow Responsibility in Television Award, the Anti-Defamation League's Deborah Award, and the Producers Guild Nova
Award. Through this television show, Williamson addressed many difficult topics, including human rights violations, racism
and domestic violence, in order to promote a message of hope and responsibility. She was actively involved with charity work,
primarily with organizations fighting against slavery in Sudan, and assisted former Secretary of State Colin Powell with the
introduction to his mentoring program, America's Promise Alliance.
