Series 2: Stereographs and Lantern Slides
circa 1897-1924
Scope and Contents
The series contains stereoview cards and lantern slides of the winery and operations at Guasti and of agricultural workers.
Stereoviews are cards which have two side-by-side images and, when viewed through a device called a stereoscope, result in
a three-dimensional image. Lantern slides are glass slides which contain images that can be projected through the use of an
image projector, called a magic lantern.
Many of the stereoviews were part of a series called "Grapes" by Los Angeles photographer Philip Brigandi that was produced
in the early 20th century.
Arrangement
The series is arranged alphabetically by folder title in the finding aid but does not reflect physical arrangement.
