Scope and Content
Consists primarily of drafts of novels, screenplays, and stories by Haugen. Some stories were presumably early versions or
outlines of screenplays as they were registered by Haugen with the Screen Writers' Guild. Series also contains several published
articles and short stories, two copies of Haugen's novel Women with Wings: A Novel of the Modern Day Aviatrix (1935), and
several writings by other authors.
A detailed chronology of Haugen's writing life is located at the beginning of the notebook (Box 3, Fol 9), prepared by Haugen's
sister Daphne Bates, with information taken from Haugen's diaries.
