Abstract:
Through collaboration with researchers, educators, clinicians and other health care professionals, the UCSF Office of Communications informs the public with stories that promote the discoveries and innovations of UCSF. This collection consists of marketing mock-ups, biographical and photograph files of departments, buildings and faculty, various UCSF department publications, publication production files and digital media. Includes historical photos and publications, such as files for UCSF's 125th Anniversary.

Scope and content:

Document and audio visual files generated by the UCSF Office of Communications, which was previously known as the UCSF Office of University Relations, materials are organized loosely by subject and person. Publications include UCSF Magazine, Newsbreak, To Our Neighbors, Alumni News, Newsletter on Aging, Thoracic Today, etc.

Acquisition information:

This collection was transferred to the UCSF Archives and Special Collections by Asia Gilmore in 2015. Additional transfers in 2016 by Kathleen Hennessy, 2017 by Michael Fortes, 2018 by Jim Hunger and 2023 by Brooke Thornton.

In 2018-2020, during the COVID-19 lockdown, the UCSF Office of Communications relocated and several materials were transferred in batches to the UCSF Archives and Special Collections.
