The newsletters chiefly reflect activities related to the multiple entities located at the HSC including the Keck School of Medicine and the Keck Medical Center of USC.

Scope and content:

This collection contains newsletters created for the USC Health Sciences Campus community, dating from 1995 to 2017. There are also two issues of "Trojan Health Connection" (2011, 2015) and one issue of "Student Health News" (Spring 2019). The newsletters share information related to the multiple entities that are primarily located at the HSC including the Keck School of Medicine and the Keck Medical Center of USC.

The weekly newsletter published for the USC Health Sciences Campus includes articles and photographs highlighting accomplishments, fundraising, research, appointments, and events. The initial issues are identified as "published weekly for employees of the USC Health Sciences Campus" and later issues are identified as for "the students and employees," and then "the USC Health Sciences Campus Community." The publication was published under various names: "HSC Weekly" (1995-2009); "The Weekly" (2009-2014); and "HSC News" (2014-2017).

There are also two issues of "Trojan Health Connection," a newspaper intended "to illuminate the plethora of opportunities USC pre-health students can take advantage of," and one issue of "Student Health News" published by USC Student Health, Keck Medicine of USC, to provide "updates on Medical Care and Counseling and Mental health Services for USC Students (Spring 2019).

Biographical / historical:

The University of Southern California Health Sciences Campus (HSC) is located seven miles north of the USC University Park Campus. HSC is the primary location for the Keck School of Medicine, the Keck Medical Center of USC, the Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center, and the Los Angeles County + USC Medical Center, and its community includes students, faculty, staff, patients, and scientists.
