Collection Scope and Contents
The collection consists of operational documents of the Riverside Coalition for Police Accountability (RCPA), such as meeting
agendas, minutes, notes, and correspondence; as well as pamphlets, reports, legal documents, and other materials produced
and collected by the organization. The RCPA was a grassroots organization dedicated to improving relations between the Riverside
Police Department and the local community by advocating for public oversight and review of police policies, procedures, actions,
and being involved in civilian oversight of policing.
Collection Arrangement
The bulk of the materials in this collection were organized chronologically. This material was arranged into series by year.
Some materials within each of these series spans beyond more than a single calendar year. Series 21 was material organized
topically and not originally incorporated into the larger chronological chunks; these have been kept as a separate cluster
of materials and the content overlaps extenseively with that in series 1-20. Newspapers and oversized clippings were removed
to an oversized flat box, grouped by year, and arranged chronologically.
