This collection includes material collected by Lyle Fulks, a member of the Socialist Workers Party and Solidarity. It includes
material from other Socialist organizations, such as Workers Power, Socialist Action, and International Socialist. Besides
material related to Socialist organizations, the collection also includes teaching syllabi, articles, personal material, and
other subjects related to Socialism, Communism, Marxism, labor, and social justice.
Background
The Holt Labor Library was a library in San Francisco from 1992 to 2019 that collected and made accessible primary and secondary
source material related to labor history and the history of the radical left, with an emphasis on the activities of American
Trotskyist political organizations. The Library also collected materials related to various anti-war movements, the women's
movement, gay liberation, the African American Civil Rights Movement, among other social justice causes.Lyle Fulks was born in February 1949 in Minnesota. Fulks was part of the Socialist Workers Party and also a member of the
Young Socialist Alliance in Colorado. In 1970, Fulks ran for Regent as a member of the Socialist Workers Party in Colorado.
He later became a member of the Solidarity.
